Kaboost!

Nick has avoided his high chair like the plague for many months now. We were hesitant to buy him a new booster seat, because when we bought him one about a year ago, it tipped over with him in it. So he's been sitting on his knees on a regular chair to eat - not optimal, for sure! I found this invention - it's called the Kaboost - and thought to myself, genius, why didn't I think of this? It raises the chair up from the floor so the child can reach the table and feel like he's sitting like the adults! It works perfectly with our table and chairs too, his legs have plenty of room still, and right now it's on its highest setting, so as he gets bigger we can lower it down. LOVE.IT.

People Mover!

Nick has been OBSESSED with 'choo choos' for months now, so this weekend we had some free time and we decided to take Nick on the People Mover as his first "train ride." He didn't love it as much as we thought he would. He actually started to cry at first but we calmed him down and had an uneventful two loops around the city. The train was always kind of crowded and it was great to see so many people in the D!

Playdate!

Today we went to see Nick's friend Isaac and meet his new baby brother, Owen. We had so much fun!

Two of the cutest boys in the whole wide world!

Meeting baby Owen - Nick was so gentle with him and didn't freak out, even though I held Owen for about an hour :)

They played great together! Can't wait to get together again :)

12 Oaks!

Jeff isn't feeling well this weekend, so today I tried to keep Nick busy and out of the house so Jeff could rest. Nick is growing and finally needed some 18-24 month shirts, so this afternoon we went to 12 Oaks to take advantage of some winter shirt clearance sales. He saw the kids play area and I just had to let him go in! There were so many kids! He didn't find a "friend" but he had fun nonetheless :)

New Shoes!

We are horrible parents. Nick wore the same shoes for a long time and it seemed like they still fit. They were finally getting worn out, so we took him to buy some new ones, and figured we might as well size him. Well, the shoes he was wearing were a 5 - and he's an 8!! The sales clerk told us kids learn to curl up their toes when their shoes are too small :( Needless to say we wanted to buy him new shoes ASAP, but it took until the next afternoon to find size 8 shoes we liked. We scored these throwback looking white Nikes at Kohl's :) It's funny, I always said I wouldn't bother with name brand shoes for my kids, but these were cheaper than Stride Rite! Anyway, he looks adorable in them and seems to like them!
